B is for Battle of Bull run. There were actually 2 battles of bull run. One was on July 21, 1861 where the Union left because they where confused because of Jackson’s “wall” of men. The second battle was against Lee and John Pope, where the north lost because of Pope. It was the first major land battle of the Civil War. The Union Army had about 28,000 men. They had to march about 22 miles or more and it took them 2 days.
